Contributor License Agreement
Thanks for your interest in contributing to the OpenMV project.
In order to accept your contributions, Goldeneye Solutions ("GDE") requires you to sign a Contributor License Agreement that specifies how your intellectual property rights are transferred to GDE. GDE protects the interests of all contributors and users by only accepting work (code and documentation) from individuals or legal entities that have signed a Contributor License Agreement.
There are two types of agreements:
- Individual CLA - For most contributors, if you want to submit work you've created on your own spare time.
- Corporate CLA - For organisations, who want to allow work of their employees or contractors to submitted. Have your legal counsel approve and sign the agreement.
When the proper document is signed please send by:
- email at , with a scan or digital photograph of the CLA
Why do I need to sign an CLA?
The short answer is to reduce the risk of litigation issues concerning the ownership of intellectual property. In most countries a legal entity (individual or organisation) is granted "creative/original work" rights upon creation of a work.
An CLA is required to make sure that all users of the OpenMV project are granted the same rights and protected equally.
It is a common practice led by popular open source projects such as:
Our CLA is the same legal document used by these organisations.
